Partner - Retired
After graduating from the University of Rochester, Jim began his career at what is now Ernst & Young and was admitted to its partnership in 1977. In 1992 he joined Dave McDonald in what is now the firm of Murray McDonald LLP. His expertise included auditing and financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, management succession, litigation support and personal financial planning. He was President of the Rochester Chapter of the New York State Society of CPA’s, a member of the board of directors of the Institute of Management Accountants, on the faculty of the Foundation for Accounting Education and is listed in Who’s Who in America. His participation in charitable organizations is extensive and he is currently active in his church, his fire department and as a Trustee of the B. Thomas Golisano Foundation. Though officially retired, the partners continue to utilize him as a resource of experience.

Dave is a graduate of Utica College of Syracuse University. He began his career at a regional Utica firm before he returned to Rochester, New York in 1980 to join Bonadio Insero & Company. He left that firm in 1988 as a Senior Audit Manager to create his own firm. He is a founder of Murray McDonald LLP, a firm that is over 18 years old. Since its inception, Dave has been the Firm’s managing partner and overseen all of the dynamics of a growing accounting firm including changes in partners, staff, office locations and all ongoing marketing. Dave has also served on the Board of Directors of many diverse companies such as Windsor Square Homeowners Association, Edtech, Inc., RACHAT, Inc., EDMAC Foundation, Inc. and the Penfield Business Association. He has many strong ties to the community including coaching Penfield Recreation soccer for six years and serving on the Penfield Comprehensive Plan committee for three years.

Garry graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and has over twenty five years experience in public accounting. Of those twenty five years, eight were spent at large regional accounting firms. His corporate tax experience includes, but is not limited to: consolidated tax returns, controlled group situations, alternative minimum tax problems, and the utilization of various tax credits including the New York State empire zone credits. Garry has worked with a number of closely held businesses across a wide range of industries from manufacturing to non-profit organizations. He also spent three years in the general accounting department of Bausch & Lomb, a fortune 500 company. Currently he is part of the Networking Referral Group of Rochester (nrgrochester.com) and a member of the New York State Society of CPA’s. He also has strong professional associations and is active in the community.

Tricia has a background in para-legal services and bookkeeping. She is a Certified QuickBooks Professional Advisor and leads the Firm's services in this area. She has experience in various versions of QuickBooks since 1999, as well as the on-line version and other ancillary software programs. Trish has mentored and taught numerous clients on the popular general ledger software and provides bookkeeping services on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis, In addition, Trish assists in the Firm's preparation of individual and business tax returns.

Kristina is a graduate of Nazareth College and an integral part of our accounting service team. She is adept at numerous business services and the preparation of financial statements including audits, reviews and compilations. She handles all sales tax and electronic filings in the Firm as well as being instrumental in preparation of business tax returns. Business Plans, QuickBooks general ledger set up, financial projections, special services are her niche.
